Better Late Than Never!

Well….we are behind. VERY  behind on our blog postings, but it’s better late than never, right? Our first Christmas Season as Husband and Wife was wonderful!

Mr&Mrs TOO Tacky

Adam and I hosted our first “Tacky Sweater” Christmas Party- now an annual event! 40+ of our closets friends got glitzy and gawdy with us, played corn hole and Cards Against Humanity. We snacked on “Texas Trash” and sipped on Adam’s infamous “Slush.”{ Think back to college “Hunch Punch” only better! Can’t share the recipe, it’s a family secret.}

We continued family traditions and started new ones. Christmas Eve was spent visiting “Morris Beach” and having a fine Italian Feast with my family. We opened gifts Christmas Day with  The G’s, facetimed with Adam’s family and visited with his family that lives locally. We did alot of traveling between Atlanta and Peachtree City Christmas Day and ended up missing supper with our relatives. Adam and I started a new tradition- dinning on a delicious FROZEN cheese pizza…on Christmas Day! Thank you Trader Joes! What a fun, new tradition for us to share for years to come!

New Years Eve could not have been better. MY TCU Horn Frogs were in Atlanta participating in the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl! What a great way to celebrate my birthday and ring in 2015! We were invited to the FCA Team Breakfast (Thank you Mr. Potter!) and got to meet the Main Man, GP!

photo 2 - Copy (3)Adam, my brother Joey, my best friend Laurie and myself started the gameday tailgate at 8am in 30 degree temperatures! Talk about FROG Fanatics! Adam made us breakfast on some of our camping gear we got from our wedding and poured up some Mimosas in our super cute football helmet drink dispenser from Pottery Barn.Don’t you just LOVE our TCU Tablescape?

After a great tailgate Brunch and game of Cornhole, we were ready to cheer the Frogs onto a 42-3 VICTORY over Ole Miss at the Georgia Dome! GO FROGS!

Our Holiday Season sure did fly by! We’ve only got 325 days until Christmas 2015, better start shopping!

Hot! Hot! Oh we got it!

Hot Chocolate!

It’s been a been a while since our last post, with the holiday excitement, winter colds and a lack of creative inspiration on my part….our blog has become…..blogless.

We finally have most of our WEDDING photos in from Tulle & Grace and plan to post them and Honeymoon updates soon! Stay tuned for posts from all the Holiday excitement too!

We’ve had lots of requests from our previous post just what our “Adult Hot Chocolate” was. Last Christmas we became obsessed with William-Sonoma’s Peppermint Bark Hot Chocolate. While we were decorating our artificial tree Adam created a rather tasty concoction.

We just add a little of this and that…and typically have a heavy hand.

We used our Oval Le Creuset Pot to mix up our Hot Chocolate.

  1. About 4 Cups of Milk

  2. 1/2 package of William-Sonoma Peppermint Bark Hot Chocolate Mix (to taste)

  3. A few shots of Godiva Liqueur

  4. A heavy pour of your favorite Vodka (to taste)

Heat the milk on medium-high until bubbles form on the outside edges. Slowly whisk in the Peppermint Bark, once dissolved, remove from heat. Add alcohol- to you liking. Pour in a cute Christmas mug and top with Whip Cream.

Whip Cream Topping:

  1. 1/2 Pint Heavy Whipping Cream

  2. 1 Teaspoon Vanilla

  3. 2 Tablespoons of Powdered Sugar (to taste)

Beat the heavy cream until it begins to firm. Add in Vanilla and Powered Sugar. Beat until firm peaks begin to form. Add additional Powered Sugar to taste.

Dollop over Hot Chocolate, sprinkle Peppermint Bark on-top and Enjoy!
